Build 0.0.7 log
Released 9/10/2026, 11:00:00 PM · Dr. Arevalo · commit 7f9a656
Major updates
- County comparison added to the map — Up to three Texas counties can now be lined up side by side against every county-level metric in R-CAM, added straight from a selected county on the map or from a type-to-filter picker, with each compared county outlined on the map in the same color as its column in the comparison table.
- Map page condensed for less scrolling — County Insights and County Profile now lead with a tighter header, smaller stat tiles, and side-by-side highest and lowest lists so the same metrics read in far less vertical space, while the new County Comparison sits in its own full-width row beneath both cards under a labeled Side-by-side comparison divider.
- Phone-friendly map and refreshed foundations — The Map page no longer scrolls sideways at phone width now that overlay captions wrap beneath their toggles and the pins and overlays panels shrink with the layout, and R-CAM has been upgraded to the Next 15 and React 19 releases with refreshed interface libraries so the app stays on current, security-supported versions.
Minor updates
- Age 65+ left undirected (Priority Compass) — The Age 65+ share is now treated as a metric with no better or worse direction, so its reported value feeds the composite score, rankings, exports, and labels as-is instead of being automatically inverted.
- Simpler saved-models dialog (Priority Compass) — The duplicate Import and Export buttons were removed from the saved-models dialog, leaving those actions in the main save and share toolbar.
- TAMU System pins (map) — A new TAMU System toggle drops pins at the 24 Texas A&M University System universities, agencies, and affiliated institutions, drawn in maroon so they read separately from the existing TAMU Sites pins.
- Consistent pin labels (map) — The Sites and Locations pin toggle labels are now capitalized consistently.
- Metric-by-metric county comparison (map) — The comparison table lines every metric up by theme, marks the highest and lowest of the compared counties, shades the better and worse side for metrics that have a clear direction, scales a small bar to the counties on screen, offers a statewide median column for context, and reports each county's gap from whichever column you set as the baseline in both absolute and percentage terms.
- Compare straight from the map (map) — Selecting a county on the map now offers a Compare button that adds or removes it from the comparison without leaving the map and explains when the three-county limit is reached, the comparison adds a type-to-filter metric search, collapsible metric groups, and a differences-only view, and your compared counties stay put as you move around the app until you clear them or reset the map.
- Shared map links keep working (map) — Map links that carry a metric, county, or pin selection still open on the intended view after the framework upgrade.
- Denser full County Profile (map) — The expanded County Profile deep dive picks up tighter section headers and metric group cards, and lays community-context groups out in a third column on very wide screens.
- Tidier profile and comparison layout (map) — Metric group cards in the full County Profile now hug their content instead of stretching to match the tallest card in the row, and the comparison metric filter stays readable when its toolbar wraps at tablet width.
